A very common question I get from new clients is “How much does it cost to do an ad for a magazine?” My answer is always “Well… that depends…”.
The impact of a print advertisement depends on several things. Most importantly the concept, and visual execution. The concept needs to be clever yet simple, something that will make the viewer look at a common object in a different way using few words or visual ques that put an idea into the viewers head in a subtle way. Color scheme, contrast, font choice. aspect ratio and other tactics can assist in these visual attributes but without a solid concept, it’s all just fluff.
